Elephas provides solutions to families in varying circumstances. This can include parents/carers who are thinking of separating, in the process of separating or have separated.
Due to the individual nature of these specific scenarios, there is no one solution that will work for every family. However, the process can be summarised into the following 6 categories.
The Process
Contact will be made with Elephas via email (enquiries@elephas.co.uk) or our contact form on the website. An initial call will be made to the parent/carer who contacted our team. At this point we will ask for a brief description of the family circumstances with the intention of identifying whether Elephas can assist in this situation. Should it be thought that following this initial discussion Elephas can assist, Initial visits to both parents will be arranged.
Initial visits will always intend to be in person at a place of your choosing. These initial visits can always take place virtually/online if required. This initial visit will be to understand in greater detail the family situation and for us at Elephas to assess whether we believe we can assist.
Following the initial visits/meetings a proposal will be sent to both parents including the costing, agreements, agreed outcomes, consent forms etc. Work will start upon agreement from both parents and receipt of the first payment.
All Elephas interventions will be time focussed/limited. The concept is of a focussed and meaningful intervention that equips parents with the skills and tools they require to continue alone following the end of this intervention.
Contact with parents will usually be at least once a week with visits also to the children if parents are in agreement and the child is of an age where this will be of benefit to the process.
The suggested initial intervention period is of 12 weeks/ 3 months. This will vary depending on the agreed proposal and individual family circumstances. This will all be agreed within the proposal stage and can be amended throughout the period of involvement.
Within the period of involvement the proposal will have review points identified. These review points will provide both parents and Elephas the opportunity to review and reflect how effective they feel this intervention is and review any goals based on the progress made to that point. Within a 12-week intervention there will be likely 3 review points.
Upon all agreed outcomes being achieved and parents now equipped to continue the systems, skills and tools identified within the intervention. Involvement from Elephas will end.
